English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) and New Arrivals Program
Our New Arrival and EAL/D programs offer students a variety of engaging experiences designed to support their language development and overall learning. These programs include hands-on activities in areas such as visual arts, cooking and science, all of which aim to enhance oral interactions, reading and responding, and writing skills. Focused on inclusivity, our programs foster a sense of belonging while promoting social connectedness, wellbeing, and academic growth for newly arrived students, EAL/D learners and students from refugee backgrounds. We also build upon the prior learning and experiences that these students bring to school, helping them to integrate and thrive in their educational journey.
