Sport
At our school, students have access to a wide range of sporting opportunities that promote teamwork, confidence and personal achievement. Our sport program includes PSSA competitions, representative sport pathways, and annual school carnivals, ensuring every child can participate, grow and shine.
PSSA Weekly Sport
Cabramatta Public School offers a sustained, year-round commitment to weekly PSSA inter-school competitions from Term 1 Week 5 through Term 4 Week 8. This consistent and inclusive sports program helps students develop key skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience through regular training and competitive play across a variety of sports like soccer, netball, and cricket. For families, this means their children benefit from ongoing opportunities to build confidence, stay active, and cultivate healthy habits that support their physical and social wellbeing throughout the school year.
Representative Sport Opportunities
Students with strong sporting ability can trial for zone representative teams, including sports like netball, soccer and others. Successful students' progress through a recognised pathway: Zone → Regional → State. These opportunities allow students to challenge themselves, pursue their sporting passions and proudly represent our school at higher levels. For families, this means their children have more opportunities to play sport at a higher level, feel proud representing their school, and gain confidence and experience.
Annual School Carnivals
Each year we host three major carnivals: Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country. These exciting whole-school events encourage participation, personal bests and team spirit. High-performing students have the chance to advance through the competitive pathway from school to zone, regional, and state carnivals.
Specialist Sporting Programs
Our school also partners with external coaches and providers who deliver high-quality programs in basketball, netball and soccer. These sessions give students access to expert skills coaching, additional game play opportunities, and engaging activities that support both beginners and more experienced players.
IEC Bowling Program
Bowling every Friday is great for students in Inclusive Education Classes. It is a fun way to help them improve their movement and hand-eye coordination. Bowling also helps students work together, make friends, and feel more confident. Playing regularly keeps students active and healthy. Most importantly, it helps everyone feel included and happy while having fun together.
